Schiphol Airport Car Rental Center

In early May 2025, Schiphol opened one of Europe’s largest car rental locations.
The Car Rental Service Center, as the facility is called, spans an impressive 40,000 m² and accommodates around 2,500 vehicles. Cleanbuild was commissioned by three of the five major rental companies to install plastic panels in their car wash areas.

Europcar
The new Europcar building is equipped with two brand-new rollover wash machines from Istobal. Cleanbuild installed Cleanpanel panels along the exterior walls of the wash hall. Inside the hall, our installation team also constructed a partition wall using a steel frame.

Sixt and Hertz
Rental companies Sixt and Hertz are also well equipped with three new rollover car wash machines from Wastec and Istobal. Our contribution included cladding the exterior walls and ceilings of the wash halls with Cleanpanel panels. In collaboration with Groen Bouw, we also created two technical rooms and an entrance lane for both companies, using steel frames. The sliding doors in the buildings are Cleandoor stainless steel doors.

For Hertz, we additionally clad the walls above the high-speed doors at the entrance side to help keep out wind and cold more effectively.

Car Rental Service Center
With this large-scale project, Schiphol has delivered new buildings for the five major car rental companies. The modern facility was designed with a strong focus on sustainability. Each company now has its own workshop, car wash, and office space. The building is located on the site of the former P4 parking area.
