Cleanbuild project
Sheet metal specialist Alinco from Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, processes various metals. The company is also involved in metal construction. This came in very handy for this Cleanbuild project: Alinco built a steel structure itself, in which the Cleanpanel panels were placed. The result: a brand-new ‘wet blast zone’.
Plastic walls for wet blasting
The wet blast room is used for finishing stainless steel surfaces. In this technique, fine abrasives are blown onto the material under high pressure. This makes the surface particularly smooth and uniform, without damaging the material. The technique also very effectively removes residual dirt, such as weld oxide and other impurities created during production.
Important for such a wet blast room is that the surrounding walls are waterproof. In addition, they must be able to withstand high-pressure cleaning and the dirt released during wet blasting must be easily sprayed off. Cleanpanel plastic panels are a suitable material for this purpose. The rock-hard PVC material can definitely take a beating. The panels are also easy to clean. Thanks to the smooth surface, you can easily spray the dirt off.
This industrial washroom has a slanted edge at the top. This also makes it less easy for splashing water to “escape”.
